Hampstead Renovation and Bespoke Interiors
The apartment is in a Victorian terrace overlooking Parliament Hill and the red brick facades of the beautiful streets of the Hampstead Conservation Area, north London. The toned-down canvas formed by the selected materials and finishes invites the terracotta and green of the surroundings into the flat and frames it through its restored windows.
The muted palette of the bespoke interiors features matte and glossy off-whites, alongside light-coloured wooden surfaces, like herringbone floors in thick, white-oiled solid oak, and custom-made joinery in white-varnished Siberian birch plywood and pine. Throughout the day, the abundant light filtered through the stained glass panes paints red, olive green and ochre pictures onto the white walls of the south-facing living room and kitchen. The theme of colour against a neutral background is carried through by carefully chosen and placed objects, whose different textures, colours and finishes bring depth and variety to the rooms.
